Obituary

Gloria Miller Sharp went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021. She was born on February 28, 1941 to the late Taylor and Helen Hunt Miller here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Gloria was raised under the apostolic doctrine and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of The Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Jones.

Gloria graduated from Akins High School, class of 1959, and she worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., where she served dutifully for over 30 years until she retired. In her leisure, she served as a missionary, enjoyed singing in the church choir, she loved to sing, and she was a great baker.

Mrs. Gloria Sharp was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Bobby Louis Sharp Sr.; beloved father and mother, Taylor and Helen Miller; sisters Geraldine Jones and Deloris Mack; and brother Curtis Miller.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Bobby L. (Tosha) Sharp, Jr.; her brother, Taylor (Mary) Miller; God-Daughters Vernetta Martin, Beverly Johnson Dickerson, and Valerie McMillian; five grandchildren, Brittany Vaughn (Kendall), Ashley Jolly, Lamont Ames, Lamonica Ames, and Lydia Williams; ten great-grandchildren, Kimari, Kendall Jr., Brielle, Kashton, Kensley, Nevaeh, Londyn, Haven, Kingston, and Kalani; three sisters-in-law Cynthia (Jerry) Sharp, Dorothy Sharp, Geraldine Lemons; three brothers-in-law, Bobby Jones Sr., Sammy Sharp, and JB Sharp; her Great Aunt Francis Smith; nieces, Valerie Jones, Sonya Mack, Helen (Robert) Harris, Christy Miller and Katrina (Jason) Franklin; nephews, Reggie Mack, Tony (Tiffany) Jones, Curtis Miller, Mike Jones, and Bobby Jones Jr.; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Matthew Apostolic Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
