Mother Gloria Elnora Nivens Green transitioned from earth to glory on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. She was born to the late Beatrice Banks, October 29, 1938 and reared by her grandmother, the late Daisey Nivens in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Mother Green attended the public schools of Forsyth County, graduating from Paisley High School. She later received her Early Childhood Credentials from Forsyth Technical Community College. Mother Green worked for Northwest Child Development and was co-owner of Little Angels Child Care until 2017.

Mother Green was a member of New Hope Worship Center in Lexington, NC and an honorary member of Union Chapel Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Eddie Green Jr.; and sons, Vincent Denard Green and Eddie Boris Green, III.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Teresa (Barrie) Buey, Carol Green, and Annita Green of Winston-Salem; a son, Marcus (Alice) Green of Advance, NC; three siblings, Annie Thomas, Betty (Joshua) Smedley, and Benny Nivens of New Haven, Connecticut. She also leaves to cherish memories 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Margretta Rice; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Konnie G. Robinson, presiding and Bishop S.T. Green, eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church.
