Mrs. Glenda Louise McCollum Brown, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on February 16, 2016, at the age of 67, with her family at her bedside, in Round Rock, TX. She was born January 29, 1949 in Winston-Salem, N.C to the late Frank Wilson McCollum and Bertha Mae Wilborn McCollum.
She graduated from Paisley High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. Glenda was a retired Carolina Narrow Fabric employee of 15 years. Glenda was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a woman who had a servant's heart, very kind and loving to all she met. Our hearts will yearn for her physical presence, but God's spirit will keep her in perfect eternal peace. Glenda will be missed by all who knew her.
Glenda is survived by her husband Sammy Brown; two daughters, Angela McCollum Gladden of Harker Heights, TX and Trivenna McCollum Gillis of Winston-Salem, NC; one son, Curtis McCollum of Winston-Salem, NC; one beloved son-in-law, Kelvin Gladden; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three sisters, Evangelist Vickie McCollum, Evangelist Dorothy McCollum Taylor and Deborah McCollum Sims; three brothers, the late Vernal Lee McCollum, Lester McCollum and Clifford McCollum; two brothers-in-law, John Taylor and Christopher Sims; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Lawrence Tate officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
