Obituary

On Thursday, July 9, 2015, our angel received her wings from the Lord and departed on to glory. Gladys Miller-Wagner of 2839 Orchard Creek Ln. Apt. 108 W-S, NC, was born to Gurney and Clarice Miller on July 30, 1930.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Charles A. Wagner; six children, Charles "Garfield", Gary, William "Bill", Aaron, Terry, and Grace Wagner; four brothers, Coy, Troy, Robert, and Samuel Miller; two sisters, Mary Platt and Viola Partlow; and her son-in-law, Harold Hayes.

She is survived by five children, Fannie "Sue" Hayes of Midway, NC, Alice Wagner, Kathy Ann Wagner, Patricia V. Wagner, and Benjie Wagner all of Winston-Salem, NC; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gladys, affectionately known as "Mama", "Grandma", and "Granny", was a homemaker by trade for many years. She enjoyed collecting all sorts of items including baseball cards, antiques, and pictures. She loved sitting outdoors on the porch drinking her Pepsi's. Listening to the oldies and dancing with the grandchildren, and even the great-great grandchildren, was something that she enjoyed as well. She loved all kinds of music. 'Misty Blue' and 'I Won't Complain,' were songs that she really loved hearing. One thing for sure, she loved her Pepsi's and Black Coffee, no sugar or cream, her cars and trucks, and ALL of her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Donald Keaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Gates of Zion Church Cemetery, Midway, NC. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 1:30pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
