Gladys Dunlap Kirby made her peaceful transition to eternal rest Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Springwood Care Center.
She was born January 18, 1907 to the late James and Addie Dunlap. She was married to Henry D. Kirby. In that union, they had one son, Kenneth Kirby.
Leaving to cherish her memory are, one son, Kenneth Kirby (Edwena) of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandsons, Dr. Marlon Kirby (Ann Marie) of Chicago, IL, and Michael Kirby of the home; one granddaughter, Crysenith Kirby of Winston-Salem, NC; two great granddaughters, Maya and Jasmine Kirby of Chicago, IL; two non-biological daughters, Norma Edwards of Burlington, NC and Jacqueline Douglas of Winston-Salem; nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 28, 2011 at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the church.
