Geter McCoy Anderson, 89, affectionately known as "Gete" departed this earthly life on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Trinity Glen Senior Care Community in Winston-Salem, NC. Geter was born to the late Sally Kate and Roscoe Anderson on February 25, 1934, in Chatham, VA. He was a graduate of Pittsylvania County Schools. Geter was a construction worker for most of his adult life.

Geter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita Lash Anderson; a son, Robin Anderson; five sisters, Barbara Royal, Lucille McKenzie, Thelma Wilson, Gladys Wilson, and Evelyn Royal; and three brothers, James, Andrew, and Conrad Anderson. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Lloyd (Carol) Anderson; four sons, Clyde (Michelle), Joseph (Darlene), Connie (Michelle), and James (Caroline) Anderson; two daughters, Corrine (Larry) Smoot and Brenda Anderson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Chapel.
