Mrs. Gertrude Williams Price, the daughter of Homer and Louise Thompson, was born February 8, 1940 in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Price was peacefully called home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 5:50am.

She attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools and was a graduate of Catawba College.

Mrs. Price was a retiree of Novant Medical Center. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Choir until her health declined.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Louise Thompson; her husband, James Roger "Sug" Price, Sr.; and her son, Earnest Price.

She is survived by her sons, James "Buck" Price, Jr. (Janet), Vernon Price, and Brian Price (Anastasia); daughters, Catherine Williams McCoy and Lisa Price Walker; sister, Claretta Williams Lomax (James); brother-in-law, Earnest Price (Daisy); devoted niece, Beverly Dobson; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.
