Ms. Gertrude Selena Morrison peacefully transitioned from life to life eternal on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

Selena was born on January 6, 1950 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Mrs. Willie Mae Jones. The late Mr. Henry Jones was Selena's step-father who she loved and respected as her father.

Selena retired from AT&T in 2016 after 32 years of service. During her tenure with the company, Selena received many certificates of achievement and letters of recognition. She also developed a special bond with her coworkers over the years.
Selena received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Winston-Salem State University. She was a true humanitarian. Selena proudly supported US military veterans and their families. Also, she volunteered on efforts to assist victims of domestic violence. Selena was a member of Victory Christian Center and she served on the Senior Citizens Ministry. This Gertrude Selena Morrison, full of passion and strength.

In addition to her parents, Selena was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Morrison.

Loving memories will be cherished by her two sons, Vincent L. (Emily) Perry, Sr. of Orange Park, FL and Theodis L. Perry, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Albert S. Murphy and Bonita Morrison of Winston-Salem, NC; one uncle, Edward Morrison, Sr. of Raleigh, NC; two grandsons, Vincent Perry, Jr. and Jahmar Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Victory Christian Center, 7228 Kings Ridge Dr. Charlotte, NC 28217. Interment will follow in Crown Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Thursday at the Church.
