Geraldine Little Stimpson passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008. She was born on August 30, 1929 in Winston Salem, NC to Charlie Little and Almira Friday Little. She attended Atkins High School and was on the girl's basketball team. She lettered in basketball. She received her high school diploma from Paisley High School. She also attended and received a certification Secretarial Science from the McClean School of Technology. After completing her education, Mrs. Stimpson gained employment at Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital as the hospital pharmacy clerk. She worked in the pharmacy of Kate Bitting/Reynolds Health Center for 24 years until her retirement in 1987. She always had a kind concern for the patients she served at the health center.

Mrs. Stimpson was a faithful member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She served in several ministries throughout the years, including in the position as church secretary.

She was the mother of six children, Jerry Solomon, Oliver Solomon, Rebecca Cumbo (Willie), Charlesetta Solomon, and Robert T. Stimpson and Samuel Stimpson of Winston Salem. She has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her parents, her husband Sam Stimpson, Jr., and two brothers, Leroy Little and Samuel Little preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children and grandchildren, three brothers; James Little, Nathaniel Little (Rebecca), and Alvin Little (Joan) of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters Charlene Tillery and Patricia Picarte (Erdie) of Fayetteville, NC, many nieces and nephews, cousins and her church family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, May 17, 2008 at First Assembly Christian Church. Family visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon Saturday at the church.
