Mrs. Geraldine Carpenter transitioned on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Born January 10, 1967 in Lumberton, NC, she was raised in Mecklenburg County by the late Louise Vaughns. Her faith journey began at Weeping Willow AME Zion Church, where she discovered her love for the Lord at a young age.

Geraldine had a special way of bringing people together. She adored her family and took pleasure in taking good care of them, especially with meals made with love. She was an amazing cook and there was always enough to go around. Neighbor or friend, you could always enjoy a good meal in her home. She had such a gift for cooking that she began catering, sharing her meals with families across the Charlotte area for decades. Everyone knows about her catered meals on Fridays at Shear Illusions. Affectionately known as "Gigi", she made every holiday special for her grandchildren. From decorating to wrapping gifts, she went all out to see smiles on their faces. Entertaining loved ones was her specialty.

Geraldine loved life's simple pleasures. Whether she was watching the sunset with a glass of Pinot Grigio, cruising on a boat with her husband Anthony, or enjoying the open road on the back of their Harley Davidson, Geraldine embraced every moment. She always made road trips memorable, packing snacks and planning fun activities for the ride.

Her legacy of love and caring for others will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Geraldine leaves memories of her life to be cherished by her husband, Anthony Carpenter; her three children, Anthony Carpenter, Jr., Ashia Carpenter, and Austin Carpenter; nine grandchildren, Anterius, Akeeviah, Antavius, Azaiah, Tanirra, Ayden, Ayla, Avery, and Arlo; her great-grandchild, Kha'Mazi; a host of nieces and nephews; and her Godmother, Julia E. Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Weeping Willow AME Zion Church, 2220 Milton Road, Charlotte, NC 28215. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church. Interment will be held in Piedmont Memorial Gardens, Monday, December 16, 2024 at 2:00pm.
