Mr. Gerald Lamar Chalmers, 47, departed this life on June 30, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was the son of the late James Albert Chalmers and Geraldine Young Chalmers.  He was a retired US Navy Veteran and a 1989 graduate of Glenn High School.  He was also a member of Post Master Bivouac Lodge #503 of the Masonic Temple.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Chalmers.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Teresa Chalmers; son, Ty McNeil of Herndon, VA; brother, Cedric (Laquana) Glenn of W-S, NC; two nieces, Asia Chalmers and LaKeesha Chalmers both of W-S, NC; three nephews, LJ Green, Cedric Glenn, Jr., and Quandric Glenn; brother-in-law, Mike Moore; sister-in-law, Latoyia Cruz Rivas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Antonio Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
