Mr. George G. Smith Jr., son of the late George G. Smith Sr. and Rebecca Davis. Smith was a native of Winston-Salem, NC and graduate of Carver High School. He was a resident of White Plains, NY for over 40 years. He departed this life on Thursday, August 30, 2007. Self employed owner of Smiths Moving Company in White Plains, NY. He was a family oriented man and was loved by everyone he came in contact with; he had a divine sense of humor that could uplift anyone's spirit.

He is survived by a loving wife, Dorothy Smith, two daughters; Jill Smith Franklin and Patricia Brabham, a son Mark Smith, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother Benjamin Smith (Gracie) of Albermarle, NC, five sisters: Jessie Smith Mason, Bernice Smith Johnson, Rudine Smith Mercer (Billy), Rebecca Smith all of Winston-Salem, and Vernell Gadson of White Plains, NY, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of Russell Funeral Home officiated by Elder Jerry Powell. Internment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12 noon at the Russell Funeral Home.
