Obituary

Mr. George Moton, 63 passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2010. He was born in Camden, NJ on November 11, 1946. George, affectionately called "Butch" attended high school in NJ, later joining the US Marine Corps-serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart for bravery. George worked twenty plus years and later retired from the City of Winston-Salem. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
George leaves behind his loving wife of forty-one years, Dorothy Moton; three children, Troy, Kimberly, and Tangela; three siblings, Joan Fowler of FL, Ronald Moton of NJ, and Craig Moton of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, May 14, 2010 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Reverend C.E. Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Friday at the Church.
