Obituary

George Hauser, III was born August 1, 1962 and departed this life on September 9, 2020.  He was born to the lineage of Elder George and Missionary Mildred Hauser.  George's maternal lineage was traced to the country of Sierra Leon by way of the Mandingo Tribe.  His great-great-grandfather, Mendy Truesdale, was born into chattel slavery, but purchased his freedom in the late 1800's in South Carolina.

George attended Ephesus Junior Academy and was a graduate of RJ Reynolds High School.  He obtained a certification is Radio & TV Repair and Microcomputing from Forsyth Technical Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Winston-Salem State University.

George was employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries, Specialty Inks, Cavanaugh & Associations, and was the Public Works Director with the Town of Lewisville until his retirement.

George was a member of Kimberly Park Holiness Church.  His spiritual roots began at Kimberly Park Holiness Church under the late Bishop S.M. Ceasar.  At the early age of 5, George began playing bongo and conga drums.  His love for playing the drums and other musical instruments led him to become an accomplished percussionist.  He was a drummer with John P. Kee and New Life Community Choir, a keyboard/organ accompanist and drummer for Kimberly Park Holiness Church, a drummer for Grace Presbyterian, Christopher Gray, the late Jimmy Thomas, Bishop Christopher Brinson, Dionn Owen and Renaissance, Steve Cavanaugh & The Downtown Band, Madame Mary Lee Haney & Victory Praise Ensemble, and Chester Gregory and the Black Theater Festival.  George often participate in various musical projects assisting with mastering and mixing for choirs and artists.

George was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.  He was die-hard Carolina Panthers fan and loved attended football games for the Panthers and Winston-Salem State University Rams.  He enjoyed traveling, playing in numerous bands, cooking and grilling, riding his motorcycle, and most of all spending time with his family.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Elder George, Jr. and Mildred Hauser; sister, Janice Hauser Faust; brother, Raymond Nelson Jones; his maternal grandparents, Esther Truesdell and James T. Nelson; paternal grandparents, Marie Black Brown and George Hauser, Sr.; extended mother, Sara C. Rowdy Hauser; and extended sisters, Maria Earl and Sabrina Belcher.

George leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sharon Hauser; two daughters, Kristen Hause and Kaitlyn (Ifiok Idiong) Coleman of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Nomi Ann Idiong of Orlando, FL; brother, Gregory (Debra Phillips) Hauser; sister, Reverend Deborah Hauser-Odom; mother-in-law, Sarah Spikes of Shelby, NC; fiver sisters-in-law, Janet (Rufus) Lane of Kings Mountain, NC, Mary (Phillip) Nelson of Milford, VA, Hazel Spikes and Marie Spikes of Shelby, NC, and Ann (Sherwood) Brown of Lawndale, NC; five brothers-in-law, Michael (Patricia) Spikes of Shelby, NC, Kenneth Lane, Marcus Lane, Murrell Spikes, Jr. of Shelby, NC, and D. Rondell Odom; Godbrother and sister, Logan Reynolds, Jr. and Bernice B. Brooks; extended brothers and sisters, Sharon (Stanley) Carroll, Reverend James (Andrea) Rowdy, Jr., Melvin (Priscilla) Rowdy, Darryl and brother-in-law, Bishop Dwight Earl; aunts, Hattie Nelson Ingram, Annie Ingram McMorris, and Pearl Nelson of Niceville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, September 11, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020.
