Mr. George C. Howell, Sr., 73, of 309 Barber Street passed away February 8, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. George C. Howell, Sr., 73, was born January 19, 1943 to Estella Howell and Reginald Charles. He departed this life on February 8, 2016.

He retired from RJ Reynolds and was also a retired barber.
He was a former member of St. Stephens Baptist Church.
George had a great love for singing, gospel music, family, and friends.

Left to celebrate his life are his wife, Virginia Howell; two sons, Rodney (Terrie) Howell of Tacoma, WA and George Howell, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters, Neffertiti Sudan and Benita (John) Ukoh; brother, Richard (Jackie) Howell of Bahama, NC; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Samuel J. Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Friday at the Chapel.
