Mr. George Hilliard Dunlap, 61, answered the call of our Heavenly Father on July 27, 2013. George was born in W-S, NC on October 22, 1952 and had an outstanding academic career starting at St. Benedict Elementary of W-S, NC, graduating from Phillips Exeter Academy, NC, and then to Harvard University, Cambridge, MA graduating in 1974.

He was employed by Cabot Science Library of Harvard with over 25 years of service. He had been plagued by a reoccurring illness and other health problems in recent years; however, he remained loyal and steadfast in his belief in God and his devotion to His service.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Haywood P., Sr. and Ruby Wilkins Dunlap formerly of W-S, NC; two maternal aunts, Frankie W. (O'Hara) Spearman and Dr. Leona B. Wilkins; three fraternal aunts, Fannie (Leroy, Sr.) Wall, Jessie (Barzie) Ellerbe, and Sally (Roland) Robinson; and fraternal uncles, Arthur Lee Dunlap formerly of Pontiac, MI and Jethro Dunlap formerly of W-S, NC.

He is survived by his devoted brother, Haywood P. "Skip" (Patricia) Dunlap, Jr. of Hardy, VA; nephews, Haywood, III. of W-S, NC and Ryan Hilliard Dunlap of Roanoke, VA; devoted cousins, Elvis O'Hara (Joy) Spearman, Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Kathy (Billy) Greer of Mableton, GA, Georgiana (Joseph, Jr.) Liles, Laura Ellerbe, Willie Mae Wall Little, and Claudius (Barbara) Harris all of W-S, NC, and Sandra Dunlap of Pontiac, MI; indeed there are many other special cousins, relatives, and friends who remembered and loved George.

A catholic memorial mass will be held celebrated at 10am Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, 1625 E. 12th St. W-S, NC. Burial will follow in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery.
