Mrs. Geneva Richardson-Shaw Smith Tyler, wife of the late David Tyler, was born September, 9 1925 to the late Draper Richardson and Lillie Peterson-Richardson. Mom departed her life at home on March 10, 2019 at 5:00p.m.

Geneva was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the usher board for many years. She was also the president of Unique Social Savings Club of Winston-Salem, last known as the Rosebuds, the oldest and longest running savings club in Winston, and was the professional cook for the Frank Borden Hanes family.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husbands; six brothers; two sisters; two sons, Marvin Shaw and Alfred Shaw; and son-in-law, James Kinard.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Gregory Shaw (Dianne); one daughter, Priscilla Kinard; grandchildren, James, Chris, Alfred (Shay), Geneva Renita', Shawlene, Syteria, Latrina, Charisse, Candace, and Amelia; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church: 711 Cedar Creek Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
