On Monday, October 7, 2019, Gail Rice Mills, 79, went home to glory to be with the Lord. Gail R. Mills was born on June 24, 1940, to the late William McKinley Rice and Clarice Johnson Rice in North Carolina. She was a native of Winston-Salem and a retired Nurse.

A celebration of the life of Gail Rice Mills was of dedicated service. Service to others was the hallmark of her life. She left a lasting impact upon those she touched. As we reflect on the life of Gail R. Mills today, we are sustained by her love, her sacrifices, and her thoughtfulness. She gave tirelessly to her family, friends and those in her community. Those who knew Gail as a mother, a sister, and a friend have lovingly called her; Shoog, Pluke, Troosel, and Gail all of which had its own special meaning!

She is survived by one son, Dwayne E. Koger of Winston-Salem, NC, and four daughters, Kimbora K. Jiles (Shellay Jiles) of Rural Hall, NC, Felecia K. Pierce (Marshal Graham) of Winston-Salem, NC, Monte K. Dixon (Billy Dixon) of Metro Atlanta, GA, and Derraine K. Wilson (Rudell Wilson) of Metro Atlanta, GA; one sister, Lisa Rice of Sacramento, CA; four brothers, William Rice (Hortense Rice) of Clemmons, NC, Reginald Rice of Winston-Salem, NC, Michael Rice (Roslyn Rice) of Kennesaw, GA, and Harold Rice (Yvonne Rice) of Wadesboro, NC; three granddaughters; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anthony Stover officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
