Mr. Frederick Lee Barnes, Sr. affectionately known as "Rick" of 1629 E. 3rd Street Apartment 207-B, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a native of Winston-Salem, NC and attended Atkins High School.
Mr. Barnes was a retired employee of Wilson Pest Control with 28 years of service.
Survivors include his son, Reverend Frederick Lee Barnes, Jr. (Constance) of Kernersville, NC; a daughter, Ms. Angela G. Brower of Walkertown, NC; a loving cousin, Ms. Shirley Street Armstrong of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren, Alesha Boston, Ladacia Stone, Robert Brower, III., Bradford Brower, and Cameron Barnes; two great-grandchildren, A'Zya Boston and Quinton Stone; along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 132 North Glenn Ave. Winston-Salem, NC 27105 with Reverend Chad R. Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
