Obituary

Freddie "Butch" Tyrone Jackson was born in Winston-Salem, NC to Elisha and Thelma Jackson on November 3, 1947. Freddie went to his eternal resting place Friday, June 3, 2016.

Freddie attended the Winston-Salem Public School System and was a graduate of Anderson High School. Freddie attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University for one year and retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company as a machine operator with 38 years of dedication and service.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Belton.

Freddie leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Deborah Cowan-Jackson of the home; three devoted daughters, Michelle Jackson (Derrick) Martin and April Jackson of Atlanta, GA and Merdis Roberts of Winston-Salem, NC; one step-daughter, Anmari Cowan of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Gloria (Tyrone) Teal of Winston-Salem, NC; three granddaughters, Vanity Switzer (Andres) Garcia and Chelsea Switzer of Atlanta, GA and Alaiyah Pate of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandsons, Trince Degraffinreaidt, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Zion Scales of Winston-Salem, NC. one nephew, Anthony Jackson and one niece, Thomasine Teal both of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gwathney Leak officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
