Freddie Maxine Brown was born on June 15, 1955 to Mack and Freddie H. Brown. She departed her life at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
Freddie was a graduate of Parkland High School Class of 1973. She also attended Fayetteville State University. Freddie retired from Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC with over 25 years of service.
Spiritually, Freddie was a member of Rising Ebenezer Baptist church and a faithful member of the Gospel Choir until her health declined. Her soulful songs were, "Moving up Zion Hill" and "May the Work I've Done Speak for Me."
Freddie, "Fred" or "Mac" as she was affectionately known, was a family person who loved to sing, read, cook, fish, and watch the Dallas Cowboys. Mac was a loving, kind-hearted, caring person and will be remembered for her devotion to family.
She leaves to cherish many loving memories three sisters, her caregiver, Amanda Brown, Robbie (Jerry, Sr.) McDuffie of Rural Hall, NC, and Carol B. Dearmon; two brothers, Johnny Ray (Diane) Brown and James (Deborah) Brown; one aunt, Mrs. Katherine W. Wallace of Washington, DC; special nephews, Jerry, Jr. and Je'Rod McDuffie, and Ronnie Christian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. William Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
