Franklin Kelly Horton was born in Winston-Salem, NC on November 4, 1968 to Sherry Wilson Horton of Kernersville, NC and Franklin Horton of TN.

Kelly was raised in Winston-Salem, NC.

After graduating from Carver High School, Kelly enlisted in the US Army and served 4 years as an Airborne Medic during Desert Storm.
Kelly had been ill for some time and on September 19, 2016, at the age of 47, the Lord called him home. He had accepted Christ at an early age and he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.

Kelly leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother, Sherry Wilson Horton; father, Franklin Horton; daughter, Zoe Rayne Horton; and a host of family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
