Mr. Frank W. Dulin, affectionately known as "DayDay", was born on February 22, 1928, in Davie County, North Carolina to the late Jasper J. and Lettie G. Dulin. He was the third son of 4 children. Mr. Dulin passed away from this life quietly and peacefully on September 29, 2021 at his home. He was a well-respected gentleman who loved his family, the church, and many others.
Mr. Dulin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1948 from The Agricultural and Technical College of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC. He completed graduate work in hospital administration at the following schools: Duke University - Durham, NC; Wake Forest University - Winston-Salem, NC; Indiana University - Bloomington, IN; International City Managers Association, Chicago, IL; UNC Chapel Hill - Chapel Hill, NC. Mr. Dulin worked for Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital for over 38 years, where he was the first African-American hospital administrator in Forsyth County. After his retirement, Mr. Dulin devoted his time to family and the church.
On March 10, 1950, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Virginia Williams of Clemmons, NC. Their union produced two children, the late Reginald B. Dulin (Jackie) and Randal Lee Dulin (Cindy). Mary and Frank were happily married for over 52 years. Frank loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dulin was a Christian man whose faith was strong. He was an active leader of the Greenwood Avenue Church of Christ and Castle Heights Church of Christ, which later became Carver Road Church of Christ where he served as an Elder and a Trustee for many years. He was active in numerous civic, social, and charitable associations including: Y.M.C.A Board of Management; United Way Board of Management (Vice President); Kate Bitting Reynolds Credit Union (President); Southwestern Christian College Board of Management; Forsyth Stokes Mental Health Authority Board of Management; Victory Mutual Credit Union Board of Management (Treasurer); Winston-Salem State Medical Technology Advisory Committee; Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Career Center Health Advisory Committee; Forsyth Memorial School Board of Management; North Carolina State Hospital Association of Executives; Agape Program sponsored by the North Carolina Churches of Christ Board of Directors; NC A&T State University Alumni Association; Forsyth Memorial Industrial School Board of Management, Quality Education Schools Board of Management and Quality Independent Living Facility Board of Management.
Mr. Dulin was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mary Virginia Dulin; his parents, Lettie and Jasper Dulin; his son, Reginald Bernard Dulin; and three brothers, Charlie, Henry, and Jasper Dulin.
He is survived by a son, Randal Lee Dulin (Cindy); a daughter-in-law, Jackie Dulin; one grandson, Rodney Dulin (Shalonda); one granddaughter, Rayven Dulin; one great-granddaughter, Mia Dulin; one great-grandson, Roman Dulin; two special cousins, Ollie and Thelma Carpenter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, October 8, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Carver Road Church of Christ. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 9:00am until 10:00am on Saturday at the Church.
