Obituary

Francis Logan Reynolds, Sr. was born May 9, 1935 in W-S, NC. He passed away March 14, 2012.

Logan graduated from Atkins High School in 1953 and served in the US Army. Upon his completion of military service, he returned to this city where he continued his master building skills with Mr. "Pops" Lassiter and Hugh Smith, Sr.
Logan later transferred his skills as a master builder to the Winston-Salem State University where he retired after serving for many years.

Most who knew him were aware of his skills as a master carpenter. He was very trustworthy and exact in his craft and skills. He worked by contract and timelines, even as an employee of the State of North Carolina.

Logan loved his church and served in many capacities as a member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church which included: the United Methodist Men Trustee, Finance Committee, Custodian and Repairman to name a few. He loved Sunday school and often talked about his teacher, Mr. Phillip Carter.

His parents, Ernest Nathanial and Agnes Alberta Reynolds; his wife, Mary; his two sisters, Ruby Reynolds and Margaret Welch; and one brother Earnest Nathanial Reynolds preceded him in death.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Lois Williams-Reynolds for 53 years before she preceded him in this journey.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Francis Logan Reynolds, Jr.; nephew, Cedric (Sophia) Williams; two grandsons, Christopher and Cameron Reynolds; two granddaughters, Nicole Reynolds and Whitney Murray; two sisters, Gladys Reynolds and Nancy (Ulysses) Hunter; one brother, Leroy (Rosa) Reynolds; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Mack (Shirley) Williams and Ulysses Hunter that he called his "running buddies"; a host of nieces and nephews; two cousins, Barbara Nowlin and Evelyn Hicks; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church with Reverend Ronnie E. Roseboro officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
