Mrs. Frances McKay Taylor, wife of the late Monroe Taylor, entered into eternal rest January 22, 2012 at her home of 224 N. Jackson Ave. Winston-Salem, NC.

She was born to the late Suazanna Simon McKay and Dock McKay on May 25, 1941. She was a native of Darlington, SC. She moved at an early age to Winston-Salem, NC where she made a home at Union Baptist Church. She was a proud member of the Della Johnston Choir and also the Mass Choir.

Frances was a hard working woman. She was employed at Thomasville Furniture Company for 25 years. She had a huge heart. She was a giving woman and would give a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a love for fashion and cooking. Let's not forget about those Sunday hats!

She leaves to cherish precious memories one son, Eric (Chaquita) McKay; three daughters, Delane (Reginald) Jackson, Frankie Wiley, and Sandra Hazel; two step-sons, Monroe (Belinda) Taylor, Jr. and Cleveland Taylor; one late step-daughter, Silola (Perry) Taylor Kearns; two sisters, Katie Carpenter and Bertha (Richard) Johnson; two brothers, Charles (Brenda) McKay and Moses McKay; one uncle, Cears Simon; one sister-in-law, Nut Williams; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special loved ones.

Frances has now gone home to be with her husband, Monroe Taylor; mother and father, Suazanna and Dock McKay; sisters, Dorothy McKay Hampton and Susanna McKay Chambers; brothers, Ernest, Duck, Isaac, and Robert McKay. Let them all rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, January 27, 2012 at Union Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
