Mrs. Frances Geneva Moore Summers, 88, affectionately known to family and friends as "Sugarfoot" and "Fran", of 4840 Indiana Avenue, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born on August 12, 1928 to the late John David and Lottie Cardwell Moore.  Frances was the last surviving child of the Moore Family (Charles, Elizabeth, Alphonzo, Vera, and Velma).

She met and married the love of her life, Hallie Lee Summers, Jr. on March 13, 1948, whom preceded her in death.  To this union was born 10 children, Hershal (Natalie) Summers, Jerry Summers (deceased), Shirley (Edward) Lowery, Cecil (Robin) Summers, Connie S. Mack, Reverend Dr. Douglas (Pamela) Summers, Bobby Lee (Olivia) Summers, Kenneth (Sandra) Summers, Dennis (Denise) Summers, Sharon (Robert) Jones, in addition a stepson, Hallie Lee (Grace) Summers, III.

Frances graduated from Atkins High School.  She as an avid entrepreneur who owned and operated Summers' Grocery for a number of years in the Piney Grove Community and retired from Sunline Metal, Inc.

A celebration of life will be held at 12noon Monday, July 3, 2017 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James F. Linville officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
