Mae Frances Riley Shuler was born January 20, 1945 in Orangeburg, SC to Emmanuel and Edith Riley. She graduated from Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg, SC and later moved to Winston-Salem, NC once she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Bennie Shuler.
Frances was a sophisticated, classy, and elegant woman who loved to travel, cruise, and dance at family reunions. She retired after many years of service with HanesBrands, Inc. After retirement, she started her daily workout routine at the YMCA until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Edith Riley; and one brother, Emmanuel Riley, Jr.
She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband of 56 years, Bennie Lee Shuler of the home; two sisters, Marie (Landon) Beckett of Jersey City, NC and Mary (Harry) Glover of Orangeburg, SC; four brothers, Wesley (Maria) of Yonkers, NY, David (Dephene) Riley of Creedmoor, NC, LeeVern Riley and Jacob Riley both of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ulysses (Albertinnia) Shuler and Laverne (Carolyn) Shuler all of the city; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many other extended family members.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Friday, November 6, 2020. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
