Mother Frances Louvenia Green, affectionately known as "Lou", was born September 2, 1945 to the late Mae Frances Green and Fred Nivens. Lou was reared by the late Eddie and Leebell Green, Sr. She departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Lou was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public schools and was a graduate of Paisley High School. She later attended Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY. She also attended Shaw University and was employed by Wachovia Bank (Wells Fargo) and Hanes Hosiery.
Lou was a faithful member of Macedonia Worship Center and served in various capacities including the Mothers Ministry, Senior Choir, Young Adult Choir, and the S.D. Johnson Celestial Mass Choir. She was a member of the Original Gospel Heralds under the leadership of Apostle S. D. Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Roberta Lewis, Margaree Smith, Vandelia Quick, and Cathy Hunt; and one brother, Nathaniel Small.
She leaves to cherish fond memories two devoted sons, Kelvin Green of Brooklyn, NY and Darryl (Wanda) Green who were her loving caretakers of W-S, NC; two grandchildren, Margie Jefferson and Leon Crews; one great-grandchild, Everette Crews; five brothers, Selmon Green, Charles Green, Clarence Green, Woodrow (Alice) Johnson, Jr., and Elston Johnson; four sisters, Denise Green, Neba Green, Vickie Johnson Hicks, and Deboria May all of the city; two aunts, Connie Green and Gloria Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving church members , and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, March 10, 2017 at Macedonia Worship Center with Dr. E. Rebecca Caldwell-Carter officiating and Apostle SD Johnson eulogist. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
