Mother Frances Conrad Flow, the matriarch of this family, was born to the late James Orange Conrad and Nellie Anthony Conrad in Lewisville, North Carolina on January 29, 1930. Mother Frances attended Lewisville Elementary and Carver High School in Forsyth County. Some of her many passions were tending to flowers, fishing on the fish banks, cooking and canning, sewing, sitting on the front porch in the early summer mornings with a cup of coffee, working cross-word puzzles, reading her Bible, praying, going to church regularly (before the health challenges), and attending the family reunions. Family was priority for her, and she would regularly check in with family members over the phone.
She also loved watching the game shows every day along with Mama's Family, Rita, Golden Girls, Little House on the Prairie. On Sundays, she would turn on Christian television to listen to Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Jimmy Swaggart, Pastor Timothy Fleming, Sr. Greater Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA. She felt some kind of way when she flipped through the television channels and couldn't find some good preaching.
On September 12, 1965, Frances Conrad Flow was married to the late John Clinton Flow for 25 years of marriage. Within their marriage came a blended family of two sons and five daughters.
On September 29, 2022 at 1:22 am, God ushered Mother Frances from labor to reward into Glory.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mother Flow was preceded in death by her son, Bobbie Lee Conrad; and her daughter, Thelma Jean Crump.
She is survived by her son, Willie Edward Conrad; four daughters, Ruth Conrad Imes, Arlene Crump Peebles, Catherine C. Talbert, and Diane Talbert; a devoted sister-in-law, Emma Jean Hamilton; and a generation of grands, great-grands, and great-great-grands on the rise for Jesus.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day..." II Timothy 4:7-8
"Well done Mom, thou good and faithful servant."
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, October 7, 2022 at Greater Church. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
