Obituary

Floyd Edward Brown was born on October 31, 1947 in Johnsonville, SC to the late Chester "CW" and Lillie Brown. Floyd entered peacefully into rest on August 3, 2021.

Floyd Brown, known by his trucking companions as "Wind Jammer", did what he did best. Drive tractor trailers across Canada and the lower 48 states of America as a contractor and independent owner/operator for over thirty years (30). Floyd logged a little over 3.75 million miles behind the wheel. To put this in perspective, he drove an equivalent of 150 trips around the planet or 7 round trips to the moon.

A few years after retiring as a truck driver, Floyd moved to Kernersville, NC., and was one of the founders of God's Grace and Mercy Productions with Donnie Brown and Bobby Cunningham. Floyd continued his ministry as a Deacon with Love & Faith Christian Fellowship under the guidance of Pastor John Goins.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years (32), Mary Alice Brown; they shared a total of nine (9) children, Vincent (Felicia) Coleman of Richmond, VA, Natasha (Carl) Garret of Georgetown, SC, Floyd (Catherine) Brown, Jr. of Acworth, GA, Sheila Brown of Georgetown, SC, Tasha (Jessie) Graham of Biscoe, NC, Kizzy (Joseph) Wilcox of Bridgeport, CT, Daniel Brown of Georgetown, SC, Lamorris (Candace) Kinlaw of Stratford, CT, and Stephen (Tiffanii) Brown of Kernersville, NC; Floyd loved and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Vincent Coleman, Jr., Taya Coleman, India Cohen, William Cohen, Giovanna Cohen, Andrew Cohen, Saria Brown, Asia Brown, Jada Brown, Ciana Brown, Wilson Gurley, Jr., Faith Guley, Natasha Graham, Decorian Graham, Anyriana Graham, Joseph Wilcox, Jr., Zarria Kinlaw, Michelle Kinlaw, Keeson Kinlaw, and Xavion Brown; Floyd is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Shirley Coltrane of Ansonia, CT, Loretta (Larry) Jackson of Bridgeport, CT, Betty (George) Moore of Stratford, CT, Chester Brown of Bridgeport, CT, and Johnathan Brown of Bridgeport, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Love & Faith Christian Fellowship, 521 Cinema Drive Kernersville, NC 27284. Viewing will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
