Mr. Floyd Massey was born on August 15, 1928 in Rock Hill, SC to Liza Massey Peoples. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 11, 2007. He had been a resident of Winston-Salem, NC for over fifty years and was employed with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools as a custodian and the YMCA.

Mr. Massey was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and was affiliated with the W.C. Hay Memorial Choir, the Spiritual Choir, and the Tribe of Naphtali.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mr. Massey leaves to cherish his memories his six children, Curtis (Nattie) Massey, Darlene Massey, Shelia Hill, Floyd (Delorisa) Massey, Jr., Fred Massey and Jerry Massey; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; six nephews; three nieces; two cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Monday, December 17, 2007 from the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 12:30pm on Monday at the Church.
