Flonnie Bertha Watson, born July 22, 1950, in Anson Co., Wadesboro, NC to the late Ruben Alexander Watson and Tennie Mae McRae Watson, passed away February 12, 2019 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center's Palliative Care Unit. "Aunt Flonnie", as she was so affectionately known, attended Anson Technical College's Adult learning program, where she learned reading, writing and arithmetic. And because of her love of learning, would later attend job aid classes at Forsyth Technical College, that sharpened social skills introduced to her at home.
Flonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Clarence Watson.
Wonderful memories of "Aunt Flonnie" will forever be cherished by her remaining 5 sisters, Montie Neblett, Rubye Watson-Staten, and Emma Rickard, all of Winston-Salem, NC, Vernetta Mungin, of Bronxville, NY and Alice Agers (Henry) of Rock Hill, SC; 1 sister-in-law, Louise Watson, of Wauchula, FL ; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; 7 great nieces; 7 great nephews; 1 great-great niece; 3 great-great nephews; and 3 great-great-great nieces whose lives she has impacted forever with her love and laughter.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, February 18, 2019 at East Rock Ford Missionary Baptist Church, 1845 White Store Rd. Wadesboro, NC with Rev. D.S. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the East Rock Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
