Obituary
Mrs. Flavella Campbell passed away at her home on Monday, August 11, 2014. She was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Thomas McConnell and Roxie Peay McConnell on November 6, 1921.
Mrs. Campbell was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she gave faithful service to the Ladies Usher Board and the Sarah Missionary Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hanes Campbell; two sisters; three brothers; and her great-grandson, Eric Davis.
Survivors include her three children, Annetta (Robert) Wells, Preston (Deloris) McConnell, and Dianne (Milton) Gaddy; two sisters, Lovie Cooper and Lucille Jones; two sisters-in-law, Sarah McConnell and Annie Mae McConnell; 14 grandchildren; two stepdaughters; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends forty-five minutes prior to the services at 11:15am on Saturday at the Church.
