An angel was dispatched on Saturday, February 3, 2007 and called Felo Roseboro Hennie of 1625 E 3rd Street to her final resting place. She was the last child surviving out of seventeen children born on William Roseboro, Sr. and Janie Gettys Roseboro McKinney. She was born and raised in York County, South Carolina and spent most her adult life in Winston-Salem, NC. She was married to Jerry Wade, Sr. and after his death, Franklin Hennie.
Mrs. Hennie was a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was affiliated with the Sister of Bivouac # 530.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
Her survivors include a son, Jerry (Wilma) Wade, Jr. of the city; grandchildren, Tonya Wade-Malloy (Lt. Col. Brian F. Malloy, MD) of Savannah, GA, Jerry Keith Wade and Don Thomas Wade of Philadelphia, PA; very dear family members: her niece, Lula M. (Melvin) Ross of Rock Hill, SC and her great-nephew, Charles (Melinda) Roseboro of the city; seven great-grandchildren; eleven great great-grandchildren; loyal friends, Maurice Johnson, Sarah Grant, Patricia Martin, and Felicia Huff; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 12 noon from the Chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12 noon on Friday at the Chapel. The Eastern Star Final Rites will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 11:10 am at the Chapel.
