Obituary

Felix Elbert Robinson, Sr. of 2516 NE Machine Street, a native of Winston-Salem, NC was born on January 1, 1941 to Richard J. and Queen Ester Robinson. He made his peaceful transition early Friday morning, September 5, 2008, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

He attended the local public schools and graduated from Atkins High School class of 1960. He was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company since 1995 after 34 years of dedicated service.

Felix loved the outdoor life such as gardening and working on projects around the home and helping neighbors and friends. But, the love and sport of his life was fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by many people, young and old. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and Bible Study until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his oldest brother, Richard Norris and sister Betty Ruth of Baltimore, MD.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Carrie Robinson of the home; sons, Felix E. (Tonya) Robinson of Clarksville, TN and Frederick L. (Tina) Robinson of Port Angeles, WA; daughters, Felicia Cassaberry of Winston-Salem, NC and Alesia Robinson of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Thomas (Edith) Robinson and Theodore (Carrie) Weldon of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Rosina (John) Brown, Esterline (Terrance) Wellman of Winston-Salem, NC, and Darlene (Donald) Marable of Columbia, SC; an aunt, Almeta Gaston of Winston-Salem, NC; brothers-in-law, Willie Massey Jr., Tremus (Delores) Stephens, and Jessie (Kathy) Smith, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Courtney Massey-Allah (Rakib), the Rev. Annie Duck, and Jeanette Terry of Winston-Salem, NC; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a devoted grandson, Andre Robinson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends; pets, Doody (cat) and Tiny (dog).

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, September 12, 2008 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Anderson Hicks, officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 1 pm until 2 pm Friday at the church.
