Obituary
Mr. Everett Bernard Cates was born on May 31, 1962 in Winston-Salem, NC to Welton Thomas Melton and Mildred Cates (James) Montgomery.
Everett, affectionately known as "Nard" left this earth on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
Nard attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of Reynolds High School.
He was a past employee of Douglas Battery Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father; and his brother, Anthony Cates.
Nard leaves behind his daughter, LaTishia Cates; his devoted aunt, Edna Bernice Cates; aunts, Virginia Bobo, Bennie Mae Miller, Pauline Falcon, Elois Smith, and Shirley Cates; a niece, Anna Hill; his loving granddaughter, Serenity McCoy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
