Mrs. Evelyn Ann Edwards Tyndall of 3845 Northampton Drive passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2011.
She was born April 24, 1936 to the late Eugene Edwards, Sr. and Georgia Wilkes Edwards. Mrs. Tyndall received her elementary education at Kimberly Park Elementary School, her high school education from Atkins High School, and she attended Winston-Salem State College where she is an alumnus. Mrs. Tyndall started her teaching career with the City School System in Mooresville, NC. She taught school in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and retired in 1991 after thirty-two years of service.
Mrs. Tyndall became a member of Friendship Baptist Church at a very young age. She married the late Reverend S.E. Tyndall who became her pastor. The late Reverend Tyndall and Mrs. Tyndall opened their home to the Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church family on November 6, 2005 for their first service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reverend S.E. Tyndall; one sister, Willie Delores Edwards; and one brother, Eugene Alfred Edwards, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor Renee' Tyndall-Jackson; two grandchildren, Stephen Tyndall-Jackson and Kiah Renee Jackson; one brother, Joseph Wilkes Edwards of Pittsburgh, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church, 502 N. Broad Street with Pastor Gary B. Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:30pm on Saturday at the Church.
