Mrs. Evelyn Marshall "Lena" Jones was born to James D. Marshall and Verdell Marshall on April 24, 1935 in Tampa, FL. She was the second of six children born to this union and the eldest girl. On September 15, 1958, she married Fred Jones, Jr. They had three children, Michael, Raymond and Karen. In 1988, Evelyn and her family moved from Detroit, MI to W-S, NC to become McDonald's owner operators. She became a member of St. Peters World Outreach Center and served in various ministries until her death on March 6, 2015.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Laura; brothers, James and Alexander; son-in-law, Kelsey; brother-in-law, Joe; and sisters-in-law, Octavia and Evelyn.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Fred Jones, Jr.; three children, Michael Jones, Raymond Jones, and Karen Jones Brooks; grandchildren, Fred Jones, III, Ross Michael Jones, Victoria Raquel Jones, Matthew Isaiah Jones, Julia Faith Jones, Mercy Jones, and Ilana Jones; sisters, Aleain Mouton and Verdell Rutledge (Ronnie); brother, Herbert Marshall (Liz); and a host of other beloved family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:15pm Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Peter's World Outreach Center. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1!:30am until 12:15pm on Friday at the Church.
