To know her was to love her, a true born fighter!
Eula Lee Covington was born in Bennetsville, South Carolina on March 30, 1947 to Ruthie May Stevenson and Cleveland Stevenson. She studied at Davidson Community College, began her career with Guildford County School System, then started at Alcohol and Drug Service's and later Choice Hotels. She was an active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and participated on the Usher Board, the church choir, and was a girls scout troop leader. With her welcoming, love and fun spirit, she never met a stranger and was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie B Stevenson and James Stevenson.
She is survived by her children, Katrina Strickland, Brian Strickland, Charles Strickland, Angela Strickland, Eric Covington, Jana Covington, and Hakeem Mitchell; grandchildren, Brittani Green, Dominique Johnson, Destiny Strickland, Shelby Strickland, Sydney Strickland, Keira Covington, and Brayden Covington; great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Turner, Peyton Hairston, and Karter Zoker; sisters, Eddie May Moore, Janice Robbins and Darlene Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 4:30pm Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 4:30pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
