Obituary

Eugenia "Jean" Ingram Rorie answered the call of heaven to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 9, 2007. She was a life long resident of Winston-Salem , North Carolina . She was a graduate of Anderson High School and worked for more than 20 years as a personal caregiver in the community. She found her niche as a business woman through the ownership of a local clothing and accessories boutique. Through "Turning Heads Boutique", Jean continued to be a caregiver by doing all she could to provide cutting edge fashions to the church and business communities at affordable prices.

Her versatility and ingenuity was constantly proven through her faithful service to the church. She served faithfully as a 39 year member of Greater Faith Church of God in Christ, before leaving to join her daughter and son-in-law as a member of Covenant Community Fellowship Church of God in Christ. She was well known around the country as an ardent church woman and effectual worker. At the time of her passing, she was serving faithfully as a Church Mother and Pastor's Aide President.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Dodson; her father, George Willie McGrady; and a brother, George Willie McGrady, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 14 years, Mr. Thedford Rorie; four children: Yvonne (Randy) Galbreath of Red Springs, NC, Regenia (Walter) Roberts of Lewisville, NC, Levonzy B. James II of Winston-Salem, NC, and DeKarl (Aaron) Chambers of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Carie Young of Winston-Salem, NC and JoAnn Bartley of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Fred Montgomery of Winston-Salem, NC; two Aunts, Juanita Fitzgerald of Winston-Salem, NC and Mary Alice Anderson of Chicago, Ill., and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, God-children, and brothers and sisters in the Lord. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, November 17, 2007 from the Greater Faith Deliverance COGIC, 520 Glenbrook Drive , Winston-Salem , NC with Reverend Dr. John McClurkin officiating and Bishop Walter Roberts eulogist. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends from 12noon until 1 pm on Saturday at the Church.

The family extends a special thank-you to the ninth floor oncology staff at Forsyth Medical Center.
