Obituary
With sadness in our hearts, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord.
Mr. Eugene N. Morris was born on October 20, 1946 in South Boston, VA to the late Mary Judkins Morris. Eugene Morris departed this life on January 4, 2013 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
He received his education in the Halifax County Public School System. Eugene accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt .Olive Baptist Church. He later moved to Winston-Salem, NC and became a member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church where he served on many auxillary boards.
Eugene was employed by Nu-Car Carrier for over 37 years. He was married to Mary Torres and later in life he was united in
marriage to Mary Ann Sitton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary J. Morris; and his brother, Chester P. Morris.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Mary of the home; four daughters, Sheray Morris and Shena Morris both of Winston-Salem, NC, Irevta Harris of Petersburg, VA, and Peggy Brooks (Rickey) of Roxboro, NC; three sons, James (Tracey) Morris, Jai Johnson of Reidsville, NC, and DeVonte Morris of Winston-Salem, NC; one step-son, Jermaine (Demeka) Aiken of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Delores McCargo, Shelia Morris of South Boston, VA, and Gayle (Grover) Madlock of Chesapeake, VA; three brothers, Harry (Gail) Morris of South Boston, VA, Thomas (Karen) Morris of Pomona, NY, and Anthony (Dawn) Morris of Oak Ridge, TN; thirteen grandchildren; God-father, William D. Brown "POP" of Jessup, MD; God-sister, Brenda Brown of Jessup, MD; devoted friends, Auderson Rush and Reverend Melvin Palmer; one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Charles W. Leak officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Boston, VA. The family visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10am on Saturday at the Church.
