Eugene Attucks, Sr., a native of Winston-Salem, NC, was born on December 11, 1934, to the late Samuel and Cassie Attucks. He was called home September 16, 2012.



He was a graduate of Atkins High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, where he served 38 years.



In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Attucks; his son, Eugene Attucks, Jr.; and his daughter, Jennifer March.



He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Vanessa, Phyllis, Cassandra, Yvette, and Marie; his son, Howard Ijames; granddaughters, Jessica, Gabrielle, Gillian, Madolyn and Mallory; grandsons, O'Keith and Kendrick Mitchell; five great grandchildren; sisters, Delores and Cora of NJ; brothers, Samuel, Clifton and Duke of W-S, NC; sisters-in-law, Dorothy of W-S, NC and Betty of Mt. Airy, NC; brother in-law, Grady of W-S, NC; and a host of relatives and friends to whom he was known as "Godfather".



He was a provider, good man and a hard worker. He will be missed dearly. His wit and sense of humor will forever bring joy to our hearts.



Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
