Ethel Howell Samuels was born May 31, 1945 to Mazie V. Howell and Jasper Barker. Ethel departed this life on June 30, 2015. She was born and raised in Mocksville, NC and attended Atkins HS. Ethel worked for Princess House for many years. She was an active member of Fulton YMCA in Winston Salem and a faithful member of Winston Salem First in Winston Salem, NC.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Samuels, Sr.; and her brothers, James Howell, Alonzo Howell, and William Howell.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her children, Anthony (Toni), Gregory, and Sharon Morrison (Johnnie); the father of her children, Roosevelt Samuels all of Winston-Salem NC; grandchildren, Shakeyta of W-S, NC and Steven, Jr. of Durham, NC; great-grandchild, Selea of W-S, NC; siblings, Betty Dean (John) and Shirley Gibbs of W-S, NC, Jeff Howell of Charlotte, NC, Mike Howell (Vicki) of W-S, NC, Yvette Mullet of MD, and Cynthia Hawkins of Mocksville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Monday, July 6, 2015 at Winston-Salem First, 3730 University Parkway W-S, NC with Pastor Elwood Rakes officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:30pm on Monday at the Church.
