Mr. Ernest Rennard Dubose, aka "Cuda" was born in Winston-Salem, NC on March 6, 1953. He departed this life peacefully in his sleep at home on September 23, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie May Dubose; his father, Ernest Jackson; three brothers, Phil Dubose, Ernest Jackson and Ben Dubose; one son, Ernest Rennard Cameron "PIP"; a niece, Toriyana Gaskins; and a special friend, Spencer McCall.

He graduated from Parkland High School in 1971 and later attended Piedmont Aviation School, and joined the Marines in 1974, where he was honorably discharged. He was ordained as a deacon at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. He later joined First Waughtown Baptist Church where he was a devoted member.

He leaves to cherish dear memories his son, Ernest Rennard Dubose, Jr.; grandson, Ernest Rennard Cameron, Jr.; two sisters, Veronica (James) May and Regina Jackson; a brother, Ray Cole; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a devoted friend, Robert Little. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, October 6, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, October 7, 2023 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bishop officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church.

Interment will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in Salisbury National Cemetery.
