Erick Demond Eaton unexpectedly departed this world on Sunday, October 20, 2019. He was 33 years old.
Erick was educated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Elementary and Middle Schools, and Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Erick was an outstanding athlete. He was a student of the game of football, it was his favorite sport to play and watch. Baseball was another sport in which he excelled. He participated in competitive swimming, however; he mostly enjoyed the relaxing benefits of being in the water.
Erick was the sole owner and operator of Eaton Cleaning Services in Cary, North Carolina for six years. He was an employee at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in the position of Team Lead in the Housekeeping Department.
Erick was preceded in death by his grandparents, C.C. and Dorothy Ross, Charles and Dorethea Eaton, and Earl Brooks; and uncles, Charles Eaton and Bernard Eaton.
The family he leaves behind to keep his memories aflame are: parents C. Ricky and Denise Eaton; brother, Reco (Katrina) Eaton; sisters, Huestyn Eaton and Davida Smith; daughter, Scyona Baker-Eaton and her mother Sonya Baker; nieces, Khloe Eaton and Kailyn (Michael) Baker; nephew, Jaz'ron Smith; aunts, Avenida (Spencer) Glenn, Deitra (Roy) Cates, Deborah Boston and Kim Smith; uncles, Thornton Eaton, Gerard (Sandra) Eaton, Zeffery (Brenda) Eaton, Allen (Sharon) Pinkney; grandmother, Romaine Eaton; close cousins, Tonilia Hairston and Karmyn Crockett; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral mass will be held at 12:00noon Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27104 with Father Henry Tutuwan, Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church presiding. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Monday at the Church.
