Mrs. Emma Pierce Scipio, 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born on June 17, 1925 in Darlington, SC and was educated in the Darlington County Schools. She was married to Norman Scipio until his death in 1994. From that union, they were blessed with 11 children.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Phyllis, Carolyn, Samuel, Allen, Jeffery, all of Winston-Salem, Sybil Diane (Bobby), of Fayetteville, NC, Michael of Seattle, WA, Betty, Norman, Jr. (Angela), Jimmy (Priscilla), and Marvin, all of New Haven, CT; 27 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren; a brother, Pete Pierce, Sr. of Mt. Airy, NC; special friends Mary Wilkins and the Avery Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church with Pastor William Brown officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Darlington Cemetery in Darlington, SC.
