Emma B. Mathews, March 7, 1936 – December 21, 2011
Mrs. Emma B. Mathews, 75, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Mathews was a member of St. Peters World Outreach Church and was a very active member of the Mother's Board. She retired from Winston Salem State University.
She was a pianist/organist for numerous years in various local churches.
She is survived by her children, Baron Matthews and Pamela (Joe) Hodges both of W-S, NC; Wendel (Karen) Matthews of Bowie, MD; and LaQuitta Matthews of Yorktown, VA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Peters World Outreach Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10am until 10:30am on Tuesday at the Church.
