Obituary
Ms. Elsie Mae Harper Durham, 66, was born March 27, 1946 to Guy Harper, Sr. and Ella Morrow Harper. She departed this life September 3, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
Elsie was a graduate of Atkins High School, an avid WSSU fan, and a retiree of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company-Whitaker Park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Patterson; her brother, Guy Harper, Jr.; and her daughter, Sandra Winfield.
Surviving are her brothers, Luke Harper of Toledo, OH, Jimmy Harper of Knoxville, TN, and James Harris of Winston-Salem, NC; one grandson, James Rico Harper; six great-grandchildren, Jae-marius, Janeice, Jae'daius, Tyree, Semaj, and Julian; nephews, James Patterson, Cedrick Patterson, Anthony (Alicia) Patterson, and S. Wayne (Tamica) Patterson; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, September7, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Brenda J. McCloud officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Friday at the funeral home.
