Mrs. Elsie F. Black, 91 formerly of 795-M East 8th Street passed on June 22, 2008 at the Springwood Care Center. She was born in Cleveland, NC to Walter Ferrons and Mary E. Barber.

She was a retired domestic worker with the Morris Brenner Family and was a member of Goler Memorial AME Zion Church.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Mrs. Mary "Peggy" Adams and Anita "Gerald" Black both of Winston-Salem, NC; one son, Forrest "Stevie" Black of Butner, NC; seven grandchildren, Yolanda, Nigel, and Ericka Black, Lysandra Chambers, Kenneth Hairston, II., and Igwe Conrad all of Winston-Salem, NC and Dr. Monta Conrad of Washington, DC; 15 great-grandchildren; one cousin, Dot Rankin of Winston-Salem, NC; and several very close special friends, and church members.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, June 27, 2008 from the Goler Memorial AME Zion Church with Reverend Dr. Seth O. Lartey officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.

The family will be meeting at the home of her granddaughter, Lysandra Chambers at 2326 Okalina Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC.rfh
