Elmer Brown, Jr. was born on October 15, 1963, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Mozelle Candy Johnson and Elmer Brown Sr. He was the youngest of four children: Jacqueline, Sheila, and Arnethea Brown.
Elmer graduated from Osterholz American High School in Lower Saxony, Germany, which was affiliated with a U.S. military base. He later attended Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he pursued studies in veterinary science.
After college, Elmer began his career with American Airlines as a flight attendant, igniting a lifelong love for travel. He later transitioned into business ventures and became a serial entrepreneur with interests in the automotive, fashion, sports, and oil industries. His work kept him abroad for more than 35 years, living in various countries including France, Germany, and Morocco.
Elmer enjoyed an adventurous life and had a passion for tennis, polo, and bike riding. Known for his curiosity about the world, his quest for knowledge, and his quirky sense of humor, Elmer was deeply loved by his family and friends, as well as by his beloved Egyptian hounds.
Elmer leaves to cherish his memory his mother; his sister; his children; his stepmother; his aunts and uncle; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Brown, Sr.; his stepfather, Victor Kim Johnson; his sisters, Jacqueline D. Brown and Arnethea K. Brown; his niece, Chandra T. Brown; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
